Helping you heal you
Facilitating mind/body wellness through therapeutic touch
Do you want to relax, reduce tension or relieve discomfort?
Let's look at some ways that massage can help you do that and more....
Regular massage therapy can be an integral part of your self-care. Massage can lessen the results of everyday stress that causes physical and emotional feelings of tension, fatigue and anxiety.
Regular massage can help us get through inevitable changes due to aging. (Because, let's face it, we can't stop time.) In studies, massage has been shown to stimulate local circulation, optimize range of motion and reduce pain, including discomfort from osteoarthritis, joint stiffness and some chronic medical conditions.
Evidence informed studies have also shown that massage can help reduce menopausal symptoms and promote more restful sleep.
Long stretches of desk or screen time or repetitive motions can cause wear and tear on muscle groups – massage can help decrease symptoms of tight, uncomfortable muscles. (Of course, for an acute injury, please do check with your primary HCP first.) Using massage as part of your regular maintenance regimen can help keep your muscles supple and your body more relaxed, facilitating prevention of future pain or injury.
Are you familiar with cupping therapy? (See "Services" page for more info.) This modality is thought to promote blood flow to targeted areas of muscle tissue, while creating space by separating layers of tissue, thus relieving areas of tension. It is said that 5 minutes of cupping is equivalent to 30 minutes of deep tissue work.
Emilie is also a Level II Reiki practitioner. The practice of Reiki involves working with universal energy flow to help facilitate a person’s own healing response.
